Thinking of adding a Labrador to your family? Here are some things you should consider: Country of Origin: England.
Coat: Thick and dense and weather-resistant. Can be black, yellow or chocolate brown. A small white marking on the chest is permissible.
Character: This breed is obedient, sociable, affectionate, and loyal. They have a very keen sense of smell.
Temperament: This dog gets along well with children, other dogs, and any household pets. They are not great watchdogs.
Care: Brush the coat once a week, twice weekly if the dog is shedding.
Training: The Labrador Retriever learns very quickly and loves to work for its handler.
Activity: Although they will adapt to the exercise habits of your family, Labrador Retrievers need plenty of exercise. They need to be taken on long walks, and especially love to take part in field sports.
Breeding sound, healthy and loving Labrador's is my hobby. We have no fences or outside kennels are dogs are well trained and stay with us. All our dogs are indoor pets. The puppies live with us in the house until they are ready to go to their new homes. They also spend a great deal of time playing with my granddaughter and family children, which makes them kid friendly. I think crate training is the best way to housebreak a puppy and I start their training at 6 weeks old. My goal is to give our puppies the best start I can and have them well adjusted when they leave my home. Labs are like little kids and put everything in their mouth so I also believe that the crate will help keep your puppy safe.
